STILLWATER – Last week I strongly suggested that incoming athletic director Chad Weiberg make a preemptive strike in negotiating with basketball coach Mike Boynton a new contract. Boynton had a breakthrough season with a late regular season hot streak that included a 4-1 record in the final five games of the regular season, all against top 20 competition. I'm very excited to see OSU step up and hold onto Boynton, however they got this done. It does seem our Assistants and layoff folks are going to be an issue financially to resolve. But like you say Robert......another day!

I still have a very bad feeling about all of this..... paying a guy this much because of politics instead of results..... I don't like it one bit.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope the defensive efforts can keep us on the winning side of the ledger, and out of the newspapers.

Politics?.....Nope....Well deserved based on results this year, good recruiter, and ability to represent OSU in a very professional manner.

I never said he did not deserve a raise - I'm only referring to Ford like money on less results.

Fans hated Ford for his money and love this guy's payday for less results.... it's got to be politics. What else would you call it?

I hope he can sustain this level of success, and IMO he will only be able to do it with fan support, so we'll see.

Schools have already been interested in Boynton....what are you referring to as politics? His race playing a factor? You sound like a racist.
