WATCH: AJ Ferrari Fires Out Perfect First Pitch, Goes Crazy, Flexes, Rips Off Shirt
STILLWATER, OK – The newly built O’Brate stadium has already provided Cowboy fans with some awesome moments such as Opening Day, Brock Mathis’ ninth inning game tying homerun, and hosting the top two MLB prospects.
However, the top moment may have just been achieved by one of the most interesting and already beloved Oklahoma State athletes, recent national champion winning wrestler AJ Ferrari.
When it was announced this week that AJ would be throwing out the first pitch for Bedlam, people hoped that AJ would do his now famous flexing moves.
What they got was so much better.
AJ stepped on to the mound, went through a full windup, delivered a strike and then proceeded to walk towards the OU dugout, flexing on them while yelling at them. He then ripped off his shirt and started an O-S-U chant with the crowd and then getting high fives with the whole team.
It caused the limited crowd in O’Brate to erupt in applause, yelling, and laughter. It is certainly something Oklahoma State fans will not be forgetting anytime soon. And you can 100% add the Oklahoma baseball team to the list of people who will not be forgetting this.
I’m sure there was a mixture of fear, confusion, and humor to the situation for the Sooner dugout.
There was no confusion that the Oklahoma State players in their dugout were enjoying the heck out of Ferrari’s bravado.
“We’ve all seen his interviews and how he wrestles so I can’t say we weren’t expecting it,” said Cowboys closer Brett Standlee, who got the win. “I wouldn’t want to have been in their dugout.”
“Seeing his interviews and how he wrestles I kind of expected it. He really had us fired up,” center fielder Caeden Trankle added. “The energy he gave us was great.”
Earlier in the day in a Zoom conference with media, Ferrari talked some more, explained further, where his confidence comes from.
“I just carry myself the way that I do, and I’m just confident in myself and my team,” Ferrari said in a more calm moment than right before the Bedlam baseball game. “That solely comes from the proper preparation, the faith you have in your coaches, faith you have in your work ethic, and the faith you have in your life off the mat, outside of wrestling. People see that.”
Oh they saw it again at O’Brate on Tuesday night.
This one experience can sum up one thing: AJ Ferrari is always going to be AJ Ferrari. And especially during Bedlam.
