STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just added a new non-conference opponent to the schedule in 2029. As first reported by FBSchedules, the Cowboys have added a game against Lindenwood on September 8, 2029, paying the Lions a guarantee of $500,000.

The Cowboys will open the 2029 season against Tulsa on Sept. 1, before traveling to Tuscaloosa, AL, for a showdown with the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sept. 15.

This marks the first-ever meeting between the Cowboys and Lions, who is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference-Big South Football Association in the FCS. The made the jump up to D1 following the 2021 season, in which they played in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, in D2.

The Lions are coming off a 5-7 overall record in 2024, having lost to then No. 22 Kansas in Kansas City, 48-3. They’ll face App State this upcoming fall.

The Cowboys face UT Martin, Oregon and Tulsa this season. They’ll face Tulsa, host Oregon and Murray State in 2026, Western Illinois, at Arkansas and host Tulsa in 2027, Tulsa, Southeastern La. And Alabama in Stillwater in 2028, host Arkansas in 2032, at Arkansas in 2033, at Nebraska in 2034 and back home against Nebraska in 2035.

Reece Satterwhite, the son of former Oklahoma State standout defensive tackle, Stacey Satterwhite, who played on two teams with Mike Gundy and was an All-Big Eight selection, is currently a freshman at Lindenwood.

So, if things stay the same, it’s possible the younger Satterwhite could play against the Pokes in ’29.
