STILLWATER – Many of you have inquired about safety Zaquan Patterson and whether he will be paid this season. The simple answer to that question is that it depends on what his contract stipulated. Our sources did not say whether Patterson will be paid or not. The explanation was that many of the contracts differ depending on the player and his representation. These contracts are not public.
Patterson, a former four-star prospect out of Chaminade-Madonna College Prep High School in Hollywood, Fla. played as a freshman at Miami, Fla. last season making him a sophomore this season. The 5-11, 185 pound safety cannot enter the transfer portal until the window later in December. He could attend a junior college or drop to a lower level school at the college level. If his contract stipulates he gets paid even after being dismissed from the program by Oklahoma State, as first reported by On3, then he can sit out and wait using this as a redshirt season.
As Pokes Report reported on Monday night when the news broke, Patterson was not on the two-deep. His issues that caused his dismissal apparently fell under team rules.
