Oklahoma State Suspends Richetti Jones Indefinitely Following Player Altercation
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has suspended director of player personnel Richetti Jones indefinitely following an altercation with former Cowboy football player, DeAndre Boykins, during the 45-27 loss to Baylor on Saturday.
This was first reported by Brett McMurphy of On3.
Pokes Report has learned Boykins, who officially entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, actually quit the team in the team hotel on the Friday night before the Baylor game. Jones was not aware of the status with Boykins and was encouraging him to support his teammates when Boykins rejected Jones and there was a brief confrontation.
Jones has never been disciplined previously and was an award winning special education teacher from the Aledo, Texas school district when he was hired at his alma mater.
Boykins transferred to Oklahoma State from North Carolina during the offseason. The junior played in the games against UT Martin and Tulsa but didn’t record any stats.
He played in 11 games as a sophomore for the Tar Heels, recording just six tackles. He took a redshirt in 2023, and recorded 67 tackles, two sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss, seven pass break ups and an interception as a sophomore in 2022.
