Big Rushing Day Puts Seagren and Schick up for Honors With Pro Football Focus

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State had a strong rushing day on Saturday night against No. 24 Cincinnati as running back Rodney Fields Jr. ran for 163 yards on 21 carries for an average of 7.8 yards per carry. As a team, the Cowboys ran for 228 yards, well past the season average of 129 yards the Bearcats had averaged allowing. 

Cincinnati won the game with some huge plays on offense and defense late, winning 49-17, but the overall yardage shows it was more of a contest than the scoreboard does. Cincinnati outgained Oklahoma State 427 yards to 377 yards. As a result, two Oklahoma State offensive linemen earned honors for their grades with the analytics site Pro Football Focus.

Fields Jr. was named on the A-Big 12 Team of the Week at running back. He was joined by two offensive linemen in right tackle Grant Seagren and left guard Bob Schick. 

Beyond that, Seagren was named the right tackle on the National PFF Team of the Week as the highest grading right tackle in all of Division I college football. Seagren had a grade of 82.3.

Bob Schick made the PFFF All-Big 12 Team of the Week.

Fields Jr. had a grade of 83.6 and those are both winning grades at their position. Schick was tops in the Big 12 at left guard with a grade of 73.3. First-time starter Jakobe Sanders at right guard has a grade of 69.0. 

There were a few Cincinnati players that made the All-Big 12 Team of the Week from PFF. Quarterback Brendan Sorsby, tight end Joe Royer, right guard Taran Tyo, and cornerback Matthew McDoom, who had the record setting 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. 

The Oklahoma State offensive line has been the overall best grading position group for Oklahoma State this season.
