Oklahoma State 2026 Commit Jax Forrest Wins U23 World Championship
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s top commit in the 2026 class, Jax Forrest, is the U23 world champion at 61kg as he beat Omurbek Asan Uulu from Kyrgyzstan 17-14.
He teched his way to the finals, beating Vasile Marcu of Moldova 13-0 and Mykyta Abramov from Ukraine 10-0 in the quarters, before knocking off Akito Mukaida from Japan 15-5 in the semis as he scored 10-straight points late in the second period.
Winning gold at U23 worlds is a great cherry on top of an already great year where Forrest won the Senior US Open at 61kg, where he beat 2023 world champ Vito Arujau in the best-of-three series to earn a spot on Team USA to compete at Worlds, where he finished fourth.
Forrest’s response to winning the title was short, sweet and the to the point.
