I heard twice today that an announcement is planned, but then a source I believe said the timetable is the same.

STILLWATER – Two people today (Nov. 10) approached me and said they were hearing that an announcement was planned, that the news on the new Oklahoma State head coach was coming soon, maybe in the next few days. One of those people said they didn’t believe it from where the heard it. The other couldn’t remember where they heard it. I dismissed both of them. However, a national reporter claims to know who the next head coach is.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
" the coach of the losing team could wind up in Stillwater"...

that sounds horrible.... just wondering why OSU could get the loser and not the winner of that game.

Because we are interested in both and timing is much more convenient to hire the loser

Not a very smart way to hire a Coach especially considering this will be the MOST IMPORTANT HIRE CHAD MAKES AND COULD VERY WELL DETERMINE OSUs ATHLETICS FUTURE!

I never said to pick a coach based solely on convenience… but if you're interested in both, which we are, it makes sense to take one as soon as you can.

If you're coming up on a very important month for your company and you have 2 candidates you like, and one says they can start Monday and one says they can start in 2-4 weeks and will also continue to talk to other employers (nothing is official until it's official) then it makes sense to hire the one who can start Monday.

yeah, but... that's a very, very bad analogy..... We want the BEST period. The WINNER, on appearances, would be the best.

Move on already, I was hoping to hear from RA on his rational on that statement.

I don't think they have even gotten to that point yet! My biggest FEAR is that they have apparently narrowed it down to two candidates but end up picking the WRONG ONE! Terry Don Phillips nearly made that fatal mistake TWICE! First when he tried to hire Joe Kines before hiring Bob Simmons then again with Dirk Koetter back in 2000 before he went with Les Miles!

Timing > appearance based on a single game result
