STILLWATER – Oklahoma State rode the hot hand of Vyctorius Miller to a 94-67 win over Prairie View A&M on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Cowboys moved to 3-0 on the season.

The win marked just the fourth time in program history OSU has opened the season with three 20+ point wins, the first time since 2014. 2004, 2013 and 2014 are the three seasons.

Guard Vyctorius Miller led the way for the Pokes in scoring as he set a career-best, and season-high for the Pokes with 30 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 9-of-11 from the charity stripe. He’s been in the leading scorer through the first three games of the season, and Wednesday was no different. He dropped a career-high 21 points against ORU in the season opener, just one more point than his high at LSU his freshman season.

“I felt like we were kind of slow on the offensive end, so getting shots and my teammates finding me, that was pretty good. And shots were falling, so they kept feeding me,” Miller said of his night. He continued with, “I feel like [my teammates] believe in me, they trust in me and see my work, so I appreciate them.”

Parsa Fallah was the only other Cowboy to score in double figures as he finished with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and seven rebounds. Freshman Ryan Crotty finished with seven points and seven rebounds, while Robert Jennings led the Pokes eight rebounds.

As a team, the Cowboys shot 45% from the floor, 36% from 3-point range and 70% from the free throw line on 19-of-27 shooting. They turned the ball over 14 times and forced 12 on the other end, while outrebounding the Panthers 54-31 and outscored them in the paint 44-26.

It was a slow start to the game for the Cowboys as the Panthers took a 15-14 lead with 10 minutes left in the first half. The Cowboys didn’t hit their first bucket of the game until the 17:35 mark on a 3-pointer from Robert Jennings.

After the 15-14 lead by the Panthers, the Cowboys pulled away and never looked back as they went on a 6-0 run, which was broken up by a 3-pointer on the other end by Marcel Bryant, before a 12-0 run over the next two-and-a-half minutes to make it 31-18.

The Cowboys went into the break with a 14-point lead, 46-32.

It was a hot start to the second half for the Pokes as they went on an 8-0 run out of the break. Fallah hit a bucket in between two Panther buckets, before the Cowboys went on another 12-0 run to make it 68-36.

The Pokes are back in action this coming Sunday as they play host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
