STILLWATER – With the signing of four-star Latrell Allmond, Oklahoma State men’s basketball has signed all three commitments with the start of the spring and winter sports signing period.

Parker Robinson was the first player to sign, followed by Jalen Montonati.

According to ESPN, the Cowboys have the No. 3 overall signing class in the country, with Allmond checking in at No. 36, Montonati at No. 44 and Robinson at No. 96.

Allmond checks in at 6-8 and is coming off an impressive junior season at Petersburg HS in Virginia, where he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. His performance earned him the VHSL Class 2 Boys Player of the Year honors.

"Cowboy fans are going to love watching Latrell. He's a serious-minded, hardworking young man who comes from a great family, and he plays the game with a real edge. He can score at all three levels and impacts both ends of the floor with his versatility. We're looking forward to having him on campus next fall."

As for Montonati, the son of former OSU standout Brian Montonati, is a two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year out of Owasso. Checking at 6-6, Montonati is coming off an impressive junior season in which he averaged just over 23 points per game. That’s coming off a 23.6-point sophomore season and Owasso’s first-ever state title.

"The first thing that stands out to you about Jalen is how competitive he is. He loves to win, and he's willing to put in the time and the effort to make it happen. He's a skilled, versatile player and he makes shots at a high level. He has a great understanding and feel for the game and knows how to work his way into spots where he can do the most damage. We're thrilled that he's decided to stay home and play for the Cowboys."

Robinson was the first signee for the Pokes, with the four-star combo guard checking in at 6-5. He’s in his third season with the Atlanta-based Overtime Elite League. This past season, he averaged 14 points, five rebounds and nearly three assists per game.

"Parker is strong and sneaky athletic, with a 35-inch vertical. He's a good shooter and decision-maker who understands how to make plays for both himself and others. He has competed at a high level for a long time, but I believe that his best basketball is still ahead of him. In addition, he's a standout in the classroom, earning 4.0 GPA. We're excited to welcome him to Stillwater and the Cowboy Basketball family."

Coach Lutz appears to be on the way to becoming an "Eddie II" . . . I am impressed with his team this year and recruiting seems to be in good hands. I love the "defense first" philosophy. When I look at Sampson's Houston team, they set the gold standard for defense in the Big 12. That Northwestern team last night was no slouch on defense and offense. Good job coach.
