Cade Cunningham Signs With Excel Sports Management
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State superstar Cade Cunningham is officially on his way to becoming an NBA superstar as he’s officially signed with a talent agency. It was announced on Saturday via Twitter Cade has signed with Excel Sports Management out of New York City.
Cade, who averaged 20.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this past season, was named the Big 12 Freshman and Player of the Year, became the first player in program history to earn AP All-America First Team status, was just the second player in program history to be named a Consensus First Team All-American and earned national Freshman of the Year honors from the NABC, USA Today, The Sporting News and College Insider.
After all that, he’ll be joining some of the top names in some of the top sports leagues in the world.
The brand sponsors some of the top athletes in the world, including Tiger Woods, Kemba Walker, Clayton Kershaw, CJ McCollum, Nikola Jokic and Blake Griffin.
According to Forbes.com, the contract values under management of Excel Sports is just a shade under $4 billion. So, they certainly know how to make an athlete some money.
The talent under Excel has also combined for 19 Olymic appearances, 127 All-Star appearances, 17 MVP awards and 46 championships.
“Founded in 2002 by Jeff Schwartz, our story begins long before, when our partners forged friendships with one another early in their careers. As Excel continued to grow as a basketball agency, there was a new opportunity for the friends to again work together. The addition of partners Casey Close, Mark Steinberg and Alan Zucker, brought Excel to the multi-sport agency it is today, with a foundation in excellence and a commitment to honesty and integrity.
Excel is a team of highly-specialized people who have been hand-selected for their dedication and creativity, and come equipped with a wealth of knowledge across the sports industry and a shared goal of client success. We maximize this through a cross-functional team approach that integrates all verticals across our business to provide robust and innovative solutions.”
Former assistant coach Cannen Cunningham, older brother to Cade, left the program to help manage Cade’s career. I’d have to say that relationship is already off to a great start.
