The Portal Migration From North Texas to Oklahoma State Continues With a Little Purple Too
STILLWATER – Two more additions late Sunday (Jan. 4) as Oklahoma State and new head coach Eric Morris added another former North Texas player to the Cowboys roster with the commitment of wide receiver Terrence Lewis. They also added Kansas State cornerback Kanijal Thomas. Since the transfer portal opened that makes 13 players who have committed or signed with Oklahoma State and 10 of them are from North Texas and played for Morris and the majority of the coaches now on staff.
Thomas is a 5-11, 186 pound cornerback from Kansas State making him one of the three players coming from another school. He is coming home as the junior-to-be is from Del City, Okla. and will join another former Del City corner in Ladainian Fields. Thomas played in all 12 games last season for the Wildcats including in Stillwater in their 14-6 win over the Cowboys. On the season he had five tackles, a pass defended and a forced fumble.
His freshman season in 2023 he played in seven games and also saw action on special teams on punt and kickoff coverage. In 2024, he played in only two games because of injury and took his red-shirt.
At Del City he was a three-sport athlete and a two-way player (receiver) in football. He helped the Eagles track team to a State Championship in 4x100 meter relay.
Lewis is a 5-11, 170 pound receiver from Bryan High School in Brenham, Texas. He will be a sophomore at Oklahoma State. As a freshman at North Texas he played in 12 games and caught 11 passes for 184-yards with three touchdown receptions.
