Oklahoma State Offers Rising 2027 Putnam Science Guard Jalen Taggart
STILLWATER – The hunt for dynamic pieces in the 2027 class for Steve Lutz and Co. continues and it heads to the Atlantic Seaboard, Connecticut and Putnam Science Academy as it was announced Oklahoma State has offered rising guard, Jalen Taggart.
Taggart checks in at 6-4, 195 pounds and is originally out of Rush-Henrietta HS in Henrietta, NY, a city just outside of Buffalo, NY and southeast of Toronto.
As a junior last season, Taggart tore it up for the Royal Comets, posting a team-high 25 points per game in 30 minutes of action. He also posted 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and nearly two steals per game.
They were 20-3 overall on the season, a perfect 10-0 in league play and fell in the James Town Red & Green in the playoffs.
Following the season, Taggart was named the Section V Class AAA MVP.
That triggered an offseason move to Putnam Science Academy, where he’s playing his senior season. A connection to Oklahoma State is current Cowboy assistant coach, Dana Valentine, who spent five years at Putnam Science, where he served as the head varsity coach from 2018-21 before moving to an assistant role with the prep team, where he helped win two national championships in two seasons with a 77-3 overall record.
