Oklahoma State 2026 Signee Latrell Allmond Earned McDonald's All-America Honors
STILLWATER – Big news out of Gallagher-Iba Arena as Oklahoma State 2026 signee Latrell Allmond has been named a McDonald’s All-American.
Allmond is now the 11th McDonald’s All-American in program history, joining Cade Cunningham, Brandon Garrison and Bryce Thompson as the most recent.
The final All-America roster consists of 24 players, with the game being played Tuesday, March 31 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, with coverage on ESPN.
“The first thing for Latrell, what an unbelievable story. If you guys knew who he was as a freshman and a sophomore, he was kind of a pudgy, fat little guy, I mean he’s worked his tail off to be the player that he is,” said head coach Steve Lutz. “For him, at his age, to put as much time and effort into his body and his nutrition and his sleep, I mean he’s a very driven basketball player.”
Allmond is a 6-8, 225-pound forward out of Richmond, VA., and listed as the No. 42 overall prospect in the country by ESPN.
Last season as a junior at John Marshall HS, he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and nearly three blocks per game.
Through 15 games this season with Petersburg, he’s averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds with nearly three blocks per game. He’s posted 12 double-doubles.
“For the program, it’s not every day you sign a McDonald’s All-American,” said head coach Steve Lutz. “It just goes to show our staff works really, really hard at the recruiting part of it and also shows young people are believing in what we’re doing here at Oklahoma State. Latrell Allmond’s from Virginia and came to Oklahoma State, but he came here because James Miller worked his tail off and our staff worked our tail off to get him and make him know he’s a priority for us and he has an opportunity to play early. For him to be named a McDonald’s All-American, that’s special because of how hard he’s worked.”
