National Signing Day: Oklahoma State Signs Defensive Tackle Savion Barthelemy
Savion Barthelemy, DT, 6-3, 290, Belle Chasse, La.
Athletic Traits: First, very quick for his size as he is reported most often to be a 5.0 in the forty, but one source had him at 4.9. He has a 265-pound bench max, 495-pound squat max, and a 315-pound dead lift. He will need to increase but he's well on his way. Plays basketball as well and that helps him athletically.
High School Honors and Statistics: Sr. season he was Louisiana Sportswriters 1st-team Class 4A All-State and 1st-team All-District 9-4A as his team finished 11-2/3-1, in basketball he is averaging 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game; As a Jr. he was honorable mention Class 4A All-State and 1st-team All-District 9-4A with 12 TFL and seven sacks for a 7-3/5-1 team. In basketball he averaged 6.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game; Soph. season he was also 1st-team All-District 9-4A.
Commitment Details: He committed to Oklahoma State on Feb. 4, 2026, when he signed. He committed to Texas State on July 22, 2025, de-committed and signed with Washington State on Dec. 3. He was released when the WSU Coach Jimmy Rogers left for Iowa State. He committed to Iowa State on Dec. 29 and de-committed when he signed with Oklahoma State.
Other Schools Recruited: Texas State, Washington State, Iowa State, North Texas, Troy, Louisiana, Central Arkansas, Nicholls State, Stephen F. Austin
Our Thoughts: He is still growing and should end up as a 310-320-pound defensive tackle. His play at tight end makes all kinds of athletic statements on him, but on defense his very quick first step leads him to a lot of plays and helps him avoid a lot of contact. He is a fierce tackler that will chase and is persistent in working to make the play.
