Oklahoma State: Lefteris Mantzoukas No Longer With Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is officially down a player as head coach Steve Lutz announced on Wednesday freshman big man Lefteris Mantzoukas is no longer with the program.
"Lefteris Mantzoukas has decided to withdraw from Oklahoma State University and will no longer be part of our basketball program as he focuses on his health.
Lefty has been a tremendous teammate and person during his time in Stillwater and will be deeply missed. While we are disappointed to see him step away, we understand this was not an easy decision for him and those close to him.
We fully support Lefteris and wish him nothing but the very best as he continues to prioritize his health and well-being."
Mantzoukas has played in only a handful of games this season for the Pokes due to health issues. He had started in six of the 12 games he played in this season, averaging 4.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game on 36% shooting from the floor, 24% from 3-point range in 18 minutes per game.
The Cowboys are back in action Wednesday night as they host No. 8 Kansas with an 8 o’clock tip on NBCSN and Peacock.
