STILLWATER – After a rather quiet summer, Oklahoma State football has landed a commitment in the 2027 class. On Wednesday afternoon, defensive lineman Jayden Vessell announced his commitment to Eric Morris and Co.
Vessell checks in at 6-2, 230 pounds and is out of Baton Rouge (LA) Catholic HS. He chose the Pokes over offers from Air Force, Army, Liberty, Navy, Old Dominion, Tulane and Louisiana.
As you can see from his highlights, despite not being in the rankings, Vessell is quick off the edge with a knack of getting to the ball. He helped Catholic to a 10-3 overall record and a berth in the semifinals of the Louisiana DI Select playoffs.
Following the season, earned All-District First Team honors and was a Second Team All-State selection.
Vessell is the 11th commitment in the ’27 class and the fourth on the defensive side of the ball. He joins Choctaw LB Israel Hammons, Broken Arrow S Bryson Brown and Euless (TX) Chayce Davis.
On the offensive side, there is QB Carson White, RB TJ Lewis, WR Cooper Hooker, WR Ake O’Neal, TE Talan Scott, OLmen Jake Baker and Sonny Mullen.
