Oklahoma State took the third and final game of its trip to Puerto Rico as the Cowboys beat the LBP All-Stars 100-92.
Senior Jordan Burks led the way with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor, 3-of-5 from 3-point range and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. He also had three rebounds.
Jacob Walker was next on the stat sheet with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor, 2-of-3 from 3-point range with six assists.
Andrija Grbovic had 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, Luka Bogavac and Parker Robinson had 10 points apiece and Ben Ahmed and Julius Halaifonua had nine points apiece.
Point guard Kanye Clary did not play in the third game.
As a team, the Cowboys outrebounded the All-Stars 43-33, shot 51% from the floor, 37% from 3-point range and nearly 77% from the free throw line.
While it’s still July and there’s not much you can actually take away from this trip to Puerto Rico, there’s no denying the fact this team is athletic, long and can move up and down the court very quickly.
The sophomores have taken a step up from last season and all look to make major contributions, while the freshmen have shown a ton of speed, athleticism and ability to score.
The transfer group was led all three games by the former UCF guard Burks, who has the ability to score at all levels and isn’t afraid to get physical in the paint. And while he didn’t play in the third game, returning point guard Clary looks more confident than he did last season, which should allow for a step up from the senior.
