STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is a week away from the start of the 2026-27 football season and Eric Morris and Co. have announced the team captains.
As expected, the offensive captains are quarterback Drew Mestemaker, running back Caleb Hawkins and offensive lineman Jacob Sexton. The defensive captains are defensive end Jaleel Johnson, linebacker Ethan Wesloski, defensive back Quinton Hammonds and the special teams captain is punter Lachie Pozzobon,
Johnson is the lone returning player nominated a captain, with Mestemaker, Hawkins, Weslowski and Hammonds coming from North Texas and Pozzobon from Stephen F. Austin.
The Cowboys begin the season next Saturday, September 5 on the road at Tulsa, before their home opener the following week against Oregon on Sept. 12.
