Injury Report from Oregon Win - Two Linemen Went Out for Oklahoma State, One on Each Side
STILLWATER – The first series of the season it was captain and starting offensive left tackle Jacob Sexton that was down. Sexton is lost for the season with a broken leg. Oklahoma State did not have too many injuries to note from the huge victory over Oregon, but it will be important on Tuesday to check with head coach Eric Morris on offensive right guard Joseph Hanson and nose guard on defense Iman Oates. Both of those players started the Oregon game. Hanson started both games this season.
Hanson, a transfer from Coastal Carolina that can play either guard or tackle, had several good blocks early in the contest. He and left tackle Shaun Torgeson had really good blocks on Caleb Hawkins seven-yard run on the third possession. Then Hanson and center Tyler Mercer combined for blocks that helped open a hole for Hawkins for an eight-yard gain in the second quarter.
Hanson was injured and on the ground after that play. He went out and did not return. The offensive line shifted to Torgeson at left tackle, Johnny Dickson III moved from left guard to right guard, Desmond Magiya came in at left guard. Center Tyler Mercer and right tackle Ashton Lepo remained in their spots. Hanson did not return.
Center Tyler Mercer came off the field in the second half and Jakobe Sanders filled in at center. Mercer did return after getting IV’d with a bag of fluids.
Iman Oates did not register any defensive statistics, but he played in rotation after starting at the nose. He was injured and on the ground after Oregon’s second quarter touchdown, a one-yard run by Jordon Davison. Oates was helped off the field and never returned to action. in addition to Oates, Oklahoma State rotated six different players combined at nose tackle and defensive tackle. They included Jerry Lawson, Enai White, and Saadiq Clements inside. Malik Charles, Luke Webb, and Landon Dean all took reps at defensive tackle.
