Contract Extension Great Not Only for Jacie Hoyt, But Cowgirl Basketball:
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Jacie Hoyt signed a contract extension on Monday, keeping her in Stillwater through the 2030-31 season. On Tuesday, Hoyt and Stailee Heard met with the media to discuss the offseason, preseason and the contract extension heading into the 2026-27 season.
"I love being a Cowgirl," Hoyt said Tuesday. "This is home to me. Even take out the basketball. I get to work with my husband here. I have a daughter that I get to bring around and has literally grown up from 10 days old being a Cowgirl and part of this community and this fanbase.
"The donors, the people that have invested in me — it means everything. I'm the type of person if I feel like you're for me, I'm gonna run through a wall for you, and I feel that here, I feel the investment in me from so many people."
Since taking over the program in 2022, the Cowgirls have an 84-45 overall record, the best season being the 2024-25 season going 24-10 and the worst being a 14-16 record in year two.
2022-23: 21-12
2023-24: 14-16
2024-25: 25-7
2025-26: 24-10
One of the consistent pieces of the puzzle for Hoyt has been Heard, who joined the program in 2023 out of Sapulpa, OK. She’s averaged nearly 14 points per game during her career in Stillwater and is set to be a major factor in the success of this year’s team as the only returning starter. Heard didn’t hold back on Tuesday when talking about Hoyt and her impact.
"It's awesome," said Heard, who has two college seasons remaining. "She's a great role model for Cowgirl basketball and for the type of player I want to be and the type of person I want to be off the court. She shows resilience, hard work. She's very loyal and true, so I love that she signed that extension. I wish I could stay and play for that time, but I gotta leave."
Heard and Hoyt get a chance to make some magic this season as the Cowgirls have the top-rated portal class in the country, which is highlighted by top-3 players Audi Crooks and Liv McGill.
While have a difficult schedule, there’s no question Hoyt and her roster will have a chance to make a lot of noise in the conference, with a very legitimate chance of winning the regular season and conference tournament titles.
The Pokes get things started on Monday, Nov. 2 as they play host to Southern.
