Mike Gundy Makes His College Football Studio Television Debut with TNT/HBO Max
STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy had opportunities this season to work in television as ESPN offered a variety of weekend studio chores in Bristol, Ct. FOX Sports offered work as a game analyst. Gundy chose to stay out of the television spotlight and spend more time at home and with family. However, this weekend Gundy, who has done ESPN work in the coach’s broadcast of CFP Championship Games, will be in the TNT studios in Atlanta for pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage of the Big 12 Conference game featuring Arizona at West Virginia.
Gundy will be in the studio with former University of Georgia All-American and NFL star Champ Bailey, former Auburn linebacker and NFL Pro Bowler with the Cincinnati Bengals in Takeo Spikes. Jordan Cornette will be the studio host. Gundy and the studio crew open the broadcast at 10:30 am central time and 11:30 eastern. Kickoff for the Arizona Wldcats (4-1/1-1) and West Virginia Mountaineers (3-2/0-2) is at 11 a.m./noon.
Gundy was dismissed as head coach on Sept. 23, 2026 and he is in the middle of a buyout that does carry restrictions, so don’t expect Gundy to comment much of his former team. I would expect him to have much to say about the current season as he has been watching closely, a lot of football on weekends.
Gundy, a former Oklahoma State quarterback and Big Eight total offense leader is a veteran of 37-years of college coaching. He was head coach at Oklahoma State for 20 seasons and finished with a record of 170-90. Gundy was 12-6 in bowl games as he led the Cowboys to 18 straight winning seasons and bowl games. His team in 2011 won the Big 12 Championship and he owns bowl wins over the likes of Alabama, Arizona, Stanford, Missouri, Miami (Fla.), Texas A&M, and Notre Dame.
He coached current NFL players like Ollie Gordon, Malcolm Rodriguez, Jaylen Warren, Mason Rudolph, and Chuba Hubbard. His list of former NFL players include Charlie Johnson, Brandon Weeden, Dez Bryant, Kendall Hunter, and Russell Okung just to name a few.
