STILLWATER – It caught more than a few people by surprise on Wednesday night when Oklahoma State wide receiver Wyatt Young was listed as questionable by the Big 12 on information from Oklahoma State on the Big 12 Availability Report for the game on Saturday with UCF. Pokes Report was able to learn that Young had an injury in practice during the bye week and was rehabbing with hopes of being available. Our source told us Thursday morning that Young was practicing and looked like he would play.
Confirmation came later on the weekly Eric Morris Radio Show from the Cowboy Network and Learfield Sports. Morris confirmed that report.
Then it was further confirmed by the actual player in question as Young was a player guest on the show.
“I’m feeling great and I’m excited to play on Saturday,” Young told Cowboys voice Dave Hunziker on the program. “The bye week helped a lot.”
Hunziker said he thought he just went from questionable to in just now.
“Absolutely,” agreed Young.
Young is coming off his top performance of the season with eight receptions for 192-yards in the 41-24 win over West Virginia. Young had a touchdown in the contest as he exploded in the second half. On the season, Young has 22 catches for 410-yards and three touchdowns. He is a former quarterback in high school at Katy (Thompkins), Texas that has a unique relationship with quarterback Drew Mestemaker, kind of a sixth sense.
