Running Back Sean Tyler Flips Commitment from Oklahoma State to Minnesota

STILLWATER – In some ways the NCAA Transfer Portal is like the stock market; one minute it can be up for a team and the next it is down. Sometimes you can catch it going both ways. Oklahoma State’s market value will be interesting to measure when this is all over, but the most recent development is losing a running back they were very excited about initially.

Even crazier is losing Sean Tyler, who checks in at 5-8, 185-pounds, in the dead period. Tyler visited Oklahoma State back in the middle of December and the two-time thousand-yard plus rusher for Western Michigan in the MAC and a hero in a televised game in a snowstorm against rival Central Michigan made a commitment the day after going home from his official stop in Stillwater. 

Now, nearly  a month after committing to the Cowboys, Tyler has reconsidered and is going to follow his former position coach Eric Evans, who is rumored to be going to the University of Minnesota. Tyler’s girlfriend is reportedly in Minnesota as well. 

Tyle has one year of eligibility remaining as a grad transfer.

This news isn’t a big surprise to the Cowboy coaching staff as Tyler had been leaning towards flipping to Minnesota for a while now.

Despite the decommitment on Friday, Mike Gundy and Co. have been in on several transfer running backs the past week.
