2022 St. Louis Cornerback Cameron Epps Commits To Oklahoma State
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State recruiting staff is firing on all cylinders right now in the early months of 2021.
Cameron Epps, a 2022 cornerback from Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis, Missouri, has announced his commitment to Oklahoma State via Twitter.
Pokes Report got an exclusive interview with Epps prior to his announcement!
Epps has a 6’2 and 200-pound frame, which is absolutely massive when comparing to your average cornerbacks.

He chose the Cowboys over Michigan State, Arkansas, Louisville, West Virginia and five others. The Cowboys offered Epps back on September 2, 2020 and has been the leader in his recruitment since. His commitment comes as no surprise for us at Pokes Report, because on Jan. 23, we reported that his commitment was coming soon and that the Cowboys were at the top of his recruitment.
Epps is the fourth public commitment in this 2022 class for Oklahoma State, with a fifth coming on Friday. He is the second defensive player in this class joining Stillwater linebacker Gabe Brown. The Cowboys are looking to take three cornerbacks in this class, so landing one early is a major in the long term of this class.
In his junior season, which he just wrapped up, he was awarded:
- 1st Team All State DB
- 1st Team All District DB
- 1st Team All Conference DB & ATH
In coverage, he is truly a lockdown corner. When in press, he consistently does not allow more than a yard of seperation in the route. He is very instinctual and will feel out a play and react to it. In off coverage, he is very good at diagnosing the play and exploding to his man or a ball carrier.
Cameron Epps Junior Season Highlights (6 Games)
He is a good tackler in space and his physicality stands out at the point of contact. Some of his playmaking on defense is a direct result of his offensive skills, where he plays quarterback for Chaminade. While a lot of plays are similar to a wild cat packake, he has shown the ability to air it out with accuracy.
When the ball is in his hands, he has shown excellent speed, agility and toughness, shaking off defenders and fighting for extra yards.
Oklahoma State loves versatile players and Cameron Epps certainly fits that mold.
