STILLWATER – Do you remember the panic? The NCAA Transfer Portal was open and Bryson Green left Oklahoma State and would wind up at the bowl opponent Wisconsin. Sophomore captain,  that’s right, captain John Paul Richardson went into the portal and he wound up at conference rival and CFP finalist TCU. Oklahoma State fans were wondering what the heck?

We continue our spring football review with the receivers. We’ve already done the offensive and defensive linemen.

I wonder how ol' Phil Steele does with this portal stuff.... he has to assemble his information so early to hit the news stands by early summer, so some of his information may be wiped out by the portal transfers before we ever get a copy of his publication in our hands...

but, I think Robert's assessment of our team strength is spot on. I think our DL strength may be a close second.... which is a rare things for a Poke fan to say.

Yup, the other group that I think will pleasantly surprise folks is the running back crew! I think they definitely upgraded based upon the Spring performance when they essentially swapped out Dominic Richardson for Elijah Collins! The offense, even minus four year starter Spencer Sanders, should be improved next season!

I think the surroundings for the QB are better. But generally, an offense is about 60% affected by the QB, so we'll see.

I asked Steele about that very topic and I asked him what his Colorado sheets looked like and he told me that his print date is moved back to early June and that allows him to make fundamental changes all the way until the end of May. He will keep it as accurate and up-to-the-minute as he can. Steele has an amazing realtionship with moist D1 head coaches and gets amazing information when it comes to personnel and depth charts.

Thanks Robert....

this is one year that I'll be certain to pick up a copy of his publication, because it seems like an impossible task to keep up with so many changes to so many teams. I'll certainly welcome all the help I can get.

plus I'm looking forward to his take on the effects of the conference realignments (team rankings).

Didn't we recruit a potential high school slot named Heard perhaps that's supposed to be pretty good? No mention of any freshmen in Article I guess. Often we've had a frosh show up in our games, at least in the past.

This was a spring review and the only freshmen mentioned in any of the stories will be early arrivals like Jack Endean, Jakobe Sanders, and quarterback Zane Flores.
