Offensive Review from Iowa State: Best Day Yet for Offense, But Need Better

AMES, Iowa – It all happened in Ames, but truth be told the dateline is about 20 hours off. I’m in my office and spent about a hour and a half looking at all 72 offensive plays that Oklahoma State (2-2/0-1) played on Saturday in the 34-27 loss to Iowa State. There was enough there to win the game.

Thank you, HCMG, for selecting a QB for the game!
The team looked so much better. Great improvement.
Looking forward to being at BPS Friday night against K-State ...
Go Cowboys!

RA from the Defensive Review

"The Cyclones use of tight ends and accessory receiver confused the defense and allowed for nickel and dime pass completions that helped to move the chains and keep the Pokes from getting Iowa State off the field."

I would love to hear the Cowboys confusing the other teams defense to keep the Pokes on the field and keeping the opponents off the field.

I sure wish Dickey would get over his favoritism and give Kawecki a shot to play more. His snaps and blocking can't be that much worse than what we are seeing with Michalski.

Agreed. Michalski was a walk on for a reason. Bad snaps and can't handle the nose.

I'm just scratching my head wondering why it is that you believe Michalski hasn't earned the starts, in competition.

Michalski played great at center in 2021, including the ND game... but now he's not any good?

His bad snaps were rhythm killers. This has been an historic issue with JM.

I think that you're exaggerating, but I was mostly reacting to your wild allegations about favoritism and promotion of a guy that has never played. Center requires a good snap, but the position is much more than just snapping.

I just don't like the unsubstantiated cheap shots some are taking at our program.
