Oklahoma State Gets Commitment from Former Tulsa Union/Arkansas Running Back A.J. Green
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has added to their haul out of the 2024 NCAA Transfer Portal and it comes from a position that fans may not have been anticipating. Losing transfer running back Elijah Collins and especially speedster Jaden Nixon, who was a sophomore on the depth chart and the primary back-up to Doak Walker Award winner and All-American Ollie Gordon II, really thinned out the running back room. The team needs depth and they have added Arkansas and former Tulsa Union running back A.J. Green.
Oklahoma State nearly signed Green when he came out of Tulsa Union as a four-star prospect and a unanimous All-State performer wih 1,325-yards rushing ans 19 touchdowns. Arkansas got Green over Oklahoma State, OU, LSU, Baylor, South Carolina, and Texas Tech.
In his time as a Razorback, Green has played in 37 games with 67 carries this past season for 312-yards and a pair of touchdowns.
In the 2022 season he had his heaviest duty with 87 carries for 412-yards and three touchdowns. His true freshman season in 2021 he had 47 carries for 227-yards and a touchdown. He has totals of 201 carries for 951-yards and six touchdowns. He caught 19 passes in his career at Arkansas for 184-yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The 5-11, 205-pound running back was also a track star in high school and he combines elite speed with power and explosion in his running game. Looking for comparisons I always thought he reminded me of Justice Hill as a running back.
