STILLWATER – 11 hits from eight different Cowgirls propelled the No. 4 Oklahoma State softball team to an 8-0 run-rule victory over the University of Central Arkansas at Cowgirl Stadium Wednesday evening.

With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 21-3 overall (2-1 in Big 12 play) and UCA fell to 8-16 with the loss.

The Cowgirls claimed their ninth run-rule victory of the year highlighted by Claire Timm’s fourth home run of the season. On the day, Timm went 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Timm got the Cowgirls started in the first inning with a single, followed by a walk drawn by Karli Godwin. Caroline Wang sent an RBI SAC fly into center field to plate Timm, and the Pokes first run of the day. Godwin scored off an RBI single from Rosie Davis which gave OSU a 2-0 lead heading into the second inning.

After a quiet second, the Cowgirls quickly got back to work plating two more runs in the third. Timm opened the inning with her fourth long ball of the year, a rocket that hit off the scoreboard in right field. Following the home run, back-to-back-to-back singles loaded the bases for Micaela Wark, who scored OSU’s fourth run of the night with an RBI sac fly to center field.

In the fourth, the Pokes gathered four runs from four hits to put the game in run-rule territory. Two-consecutive singles opened the inning, followed by Timm notching her second RBI of the day to plate OSU’s fifth run. Back-to-back RBI groundouts from Wang and Davis scored two more, then Wark capped off the four-run fourth with an RBI single that brought the game to 8-0.

Kyra Aycock improved to 4-0 with the win, pitching four scoreless innings while only allowing two hits. Ivy Rosenberry came in to relieve Aycock in the fifth, picking up a strikeout in her one inning of action. Julia Petty took the loss for UCA, falling to 4-6 on the year.

The Cowgirls return to action when they host Big 12 newcomers UCF at 6 p.m. CT Friday at Cowgirl Stadium.
