STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has lost a second commitment in the 2025 class as Killeen (TX) Shoemaker tight end, Isaiah Butler-Tanner, took to Twitter Wednesday evening to announce his decision to decommit.

He deleted the post just a few minutes later, but he has also deleted his original commitment post and taken all things OSU out of his Twitter bio. He sent his decommitment post back out Thursday afternoon.

Butler-Tanner is having a bit of a down senior season as he’s posted just 13 catches for 188 yards and one touchdown through the first eight games of the season.

The Cowboys now have 17 commitments in the 2025 class, with 10 coming on the offensive side of the ball.

Last weekend McKinney (Texas) defensive lineman Jordan Covington de-committed from the Cowboys. The loss of two commitments could be the current climate of college football and the rough side of roster building and roster maintenance. The House vs. NCAA settlement is scheduled to become final in May and that will bring in the new roster limits which is 105 for college football. That means programs are going to have to manage their current roster, add players they need for immediate help through the portal, and make sure that enough players leave the program to balance the numbers.

Departures will leave through graduation, outgoing portal activity, and unfortunately cuts to the current rosters, if need be. Another part of the balance is how many high school players a school will sign. Unfortunately, many high school recruits were offered before all the current ramifications on rosters and the absolute cap of 105 players in the program was known.

If you want to recruit tight ends you have to throw to them. Hopefully Josh Ford is all in because I wouldn't be surprised if other schools don't offer him a big bag of .

Re-read the end of the article. Robert addressed this on the radio today. With the new limit of 105 we have to go from 142 down to 105 this spring. Some of these young gentleman won't be de-committing due to their choice but could be OSU's. We probably see it at other schools soon if they want to be honest and not lock up kids that they'll cut in May.

The future roster limit decreases but the number of scholarships increases. Do you think scholarships offered are being rescinded because of roster size decrease?
