STILLWATER – You know that Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy had a feeling he wasn’t going to like what he saw on video after Saturday’s 38-28 loss at Baylor. In the postgame locker room he challenged his team to go watch the video and grade themelves.

“You come in and watch it on your day off, grade yourself and be hard on yourself,” Gundy told his players.

Why not get ready for next year? Why not get some youngsters on the field for four games so they can get experience? This season is shot and Gundy is responsible (coaching hires, roster makeup, scheme choices). Period.

So we have to deal with horrible defensive schemes and terrible play because we don't want to "embarrass" a coach? Should be there for the players and the fans not one coach that's done nothing but make this team worse.

this board is turning into the Gundy hater board like that other board, the poster's attitudes are pathetic.

Good job Coach Gundy, light a fire under the players butts - lets get the next win, and go from there.

I was glad to see Gundy exhibited signs of life during the Baylor game. He told some players they did a good job. He seemed marginally invested in the outcome. He didn't look like he was going to fall asleep due to disinterest. So progress is being made.

that is just plain ole bullcrap.

YOU THINK that is what is happening with Gundy, because you don't like him.

but it's not true - the man is totally invested in the outcome, and he is never disinterested. That's just freaking stupid nonsense.

You can actually be a fan without pretending that you know what someone else is thinking.

I just compare his body language and actions on the sidelines during games with coaches who are actually winning championships. I would take 2005-2013 Gundy any day of the week. That guy was awesome.

There is always 2nd guessing with coaching, schemes, play calling and they are certainly warranted this season. However, it's time to say out loud what everyone who knows anything about football has seen all year. This is more about personnel & recruiting (YES including NIL!) than just lousy coaching. When our D was healthy we had 3 quality P4 players on the field…Martin, Oliver & Black. The starting D lines players came from Utah St, NEO & Gannon! The level of their ineffectiveness is directly related to their level of skill. They don't belong in P4 much less at OSU! When the line is that bad, the back end will be exposed. And aside from #2, the revolving talent on our back end, including all the Smith's is below average. The same applies to the O line. Experience does not equate to talent!
Gundy says it takes $25million to put together a team and then brags about getting "cheap" players. Look at the top 25 and check out the new (NIL) participants. Point being, you cannot sustain a program today gambling on how 3 stars are going to develop because there are 100's of players in the portal who are proven that can be had for those schools with cash.
OSU is at a crossroads to remain competitive and the first step in that is process is to understand that doing things the same way will no longer get the same results.

Exactly. Reduce coach pay. Increase player pay.

Ok Mike why didn't you do this two weeks ago, because it is time to pull the fire alarm on Nardo and the defense? In 2019 when you took over the OC and play calling duties from Gleason it was after the fifth game!!! Of course you canned him right after the last game of the season!

You need that $ 4 to 5 million that will be generated by those Red Dirt contests next Spring to hit the portal and get the best available transfers!!! The money game is only going UP! The concert series and other money generators need to be fully implemented to bring in those fund in the future!!!! It is now a $$$$$$$$$ game!!!

Well, that was an unusually candid assessment of the situation by Robert. Long overdue.

There is a missing ingredient in your thought process. Those schools have the 25 mill in hand. We do not and never will.

never say never my friend.

OSU has had millions upon millions dropped on the Athletic Department in recent years for new facilities in almost every sport.

We don't even know what the rules for next year are yet. Revenue sharing may change everything.
