Watch: Mike Gundy Talks 42-21 Homecoming Loss to Arizona State

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State fell to 0-6 in Big 12 play on Saturday evening with a disappointing 42-21 loss to Arizona State on Homecoming.

The Cowboys were outgained by the Sun Devils, 529 yards to 270 yards.

"We're playing one next Saturday, and I expect guys to come out and fight their butts off in practice,” Mike Gundy said after the game. “They practiced well last week. We need to a better job of coaching, in my opinion. I need to evaluate the video tonight. I'm not so sure that I've agreed with our schemes. I don't think it was awful, but there were some things I don't really agree with that I probably could have done better. We needed a better job of coaching, and we need to make a few plays. They made some plays. Their quarterback made some good plays. In the second half we got down two scores. They caught us in a lot of man coverage and got us picked and made big plays on us. We were in a little bit of desperation to try to get the ball back, based on the clock, and that didn't help us. So, I wish we could have played better and I wish we could have coached better, but you’ve got to move on to the next one."

How long do you want to ignore this user?
He has no idea right now how to fix this.

Time for coordinator and staff changes. If the HC does not want to do it, Chad needs to step in and do it for him. If the HC does not like it? He can resign.

The program is in free fall at the absolutely worst time possible.

Gundy knows how to fix it, it's call the Portal. You just need to jump back on the bandwagon

Cheer for OSU to get bowl eligible

If that doesn't happen, then cheer for them to upset somebody else's season.(like CU)

what you are doing isn't working to change anything, my advice would be just to cheer for the team

I don't understand Gundy saying he disagrees with the schemes we used. ? ?
Does he not get updated week to week on what our offensive and defensive base structures are as well as focused changes for particular opponents? Seems strange to hear the in charge, head coach/leader say I'm not very happy with some of our game plan schemes.

I agree. Gundy has been great for OSU, but it's time for new leadership. Suggesting that we settle for trying to spoil Colorado or some other team's bowl chance is just wrong in my opinion.

What you are doing does not help either. I am not cheering against OSU, just living in reality. You don't have any agency over me to tell me what to do or what opinion I should have. Like I said, I am not changing your opinion, nor are you changing mine. Deal with it.

no agency, it is just the accepted parameters of being a fan.

I don't have an opinion, I just support the football team. I don't really get what you're saying. I did not support the BB coach staying in his position, but it was because of his entire record and 7 seasons of not getting it done.

I guess my point is more that by contrast, Gundy has had the most Success as any OSU coach, and he's in the midst of a very bad season. With what he has proven he can do, certainly he deserves a chance to get this back on track. It seems reasonable to me.

Changes definitely need to be made, but I don't know if it's players or coaching personnel or simply alignment and schemes.

My OU buddy is whining endlessly about Gabriel leaving them for Oregon and it's why they're having a bad season. Personnel definitely matters.

So now you preaching about fan behavior? Please. I am an alum and a donor. Just not so emotionally invested to not see when changes are needed. If you can accept a disastrous season given what these coaches are paid and the expectations? Good for you. I supported this program through 0-10-1 to get the program off life support. No need to allow the program to go back on life support during a time that conference realignment is not over.

Good 4 U Rodeo Poke!!

I agree, I have been a fan for over 6 decades and the past 20 years have been the best ever from a win/loss perspective. I liked Boyton on a personal level and hated to see him go, but he did have 7 years. It would be equivalent to being in the NFR Calf Roping Finals without your best horse or on a horse you never roped off of to say two bad seasons out of twenty should knock you out of your job. There are a lot of fans at other schools who would love to have our history since 2004 and our coach. I know because I have a number of friends across all conferences in college sports. Even if we never won a game but we produced graduates who became good citizens of the world and had good knowledge in the field of their training, what would it matter?
