If You Think Things Have Changed and Gundy is Not Coaching to Win, Think Again

STILLWATER – I was sitting there just after the Mike Gundy news conference concluded getting ready to get back on my radio show and I was asked about Gundy’s comments during the press conference on the importance of winning these last two games. Oklahoma State is a three-point underdog on Saturday’s Senior Day and last home game to a 6-4 Texas Tech team.

If he wants to win he should try rolling out a different game plan or players that continue to get us beat by 3TDs every week!

After his arrogant and insulting public statements about our loyal fans, I have very little use for Coach Gundy. For the sake of those players who continue to play hard, I hope we can find a way to win a conference game before the season's over.

Careful now, wouldn't want you to be called a moron for not blindly trusting Gundy's process and not looking the other way from all his missteps.

Gundy should first look inward and decide if he even has what it takes anymore to rebuild the program. Because that's what is needed. Coordinators and position coaches need to be gone and better ones need to be hired. Jimmies and Joes are great, but you've got to have X's and O's no matter what.

I am 77 years old and I have never seen the fan base more checked out. I don't remember 0-10 and one being this bad.Can anyone on the def set an edge- play after play just wide open?

Coach Gundy has not become 'dumb' over night…same guy who has overachieved for years…but I would sure like to know what the Hell happened this year…Exactly how and why the wheels came off of a team with such high expectations…

Exactly.
Here's my 30,000 ft explanation: a very bad mix of 1) injuries at key positions, 2) lack of elite skill at key positions, 3) lack of high football IQ at key positions, 4) rampant lack of football character, 5) lack of leadership on the defense. If you take 5 minutes to assign 1-4 to each starter where applicable, it becomes quite clear why we can't win football games.

The problem for some/(most?) fans is that these are characteristics (aside from injuries) that Gundy cannot realistically speak to without naming names which is never a good idea.
