STILLWATER – Steve Lutz and Co. have added another point guard to the roster out of the transfer portal in UMass transfer, Jaylen Curry.

Curry checks in at 6-0, 170 pounds and is coming off his sophomore season this past year.

This past season as a sophomore, Curry averaged 14.2 points per game on nearly 37% shooting from the floor, 37% from 3-point game, with 3.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

Curry helps replace the numbers lost by Arturo Dean entering the portal a few weeks back, who averaged 7.6 points per game with 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Curry joins fellow point guard, Kanye Clary, who transferred in from Mississippi State, where he averaged 6.3 points per game on 37% shooting from the floor. He also had 1.3 boards per game and had 18 assists to just five turnovers before getting injured after just seven games.

Curry marks the seventh commitment out of the transfer portal for Lutz and Co., joining Mississippi State guard, Kanye Clary, UAB forward, Christian Coleman, Seton Hall guard, Isaiah Coleman, Green Bay guard, Anthony Roy, LSU guard, Vyctorius Miller and Oregon State forward, Parsa Fallah.

Robert Jennings II and Andrija Vukovic are the two returning players, who are being joined by high school players guard Ryan Crotty and big men Mekhi Ragland and Ben Ahmed.

Really liking the way this team is looking. More excited for basketball this year than in a long time!

They've done a really good job of going out and evaluating talent and signing some good players. On paper, they're good, and some even better than the guys brought in last season. Looking forward to seeing if it translates to Lutz' system, but should be fun to watch.

Lutz is smart enough to know what to do and it will work out if he gets enough support!
