I'm confused. You've been posting for 6 months telling us how good Kawecki is and now he's not a starter. Really?

the article says he's recovering from surgery, and will be available in the Fall.

This obviously is not the final official starting lineup.

Sounds like the 'boys are capable of having a decent 2- deep roster for the upcoming season, a long with some decent reserves. We know how injuries can deplete an OLine. Hopefully, with the depth the 'boys have, that won't be too much of a problem this year. I'm intrigued by the word "tough" being thrown about. I believe the OLine hasn't been tough for a few years now. Hopefully, they get that toughness back. I realize that toughness only goes so far, and you need to be using the right techniques and mechanics to get the job done.. I'm hoping the new OL coaches will teach and instill the right techniques and mechanics that have been missing recently. But being tough as an OLine, they can impose their will on defenses as the game progresses, and the running game improves. If the running game improves, that takes some pressure off the inexperienced QB's and they don't have to pass the ball so much.

That's fine about the injury, but this was a known when this ongoing analysis was put out there

it's a POST SUMMER chart. Not after Fall drills. RA is still high on Austin, as he said so in his article, but he hasn't participated in the summer drills with the new guys in the new offense with the new coaches, so it would be silly, IMO, to list him as a starter at this time.

NO STARTERS HAVE BEEN NAMED BY THE COACHES YET.

RA gave him many kudos for not playing a lick for the new staff yet. Let's see how he recovers from his procedure and time off, and how quickly he learns what the new coaches want before we start chastising preliminary rosters.

Do you really think that after 3 years that McKinney is going to be the starter? Love the kid, but he hasn't stepped up and taken significant PT yet since he transferred in.

You have to list who has contributed and who is available when making a preliminary roster, not who you hope can win the job.

As of now, Austin has not competed for these coaches, regardless of what RA may think of the kid.

This is all very, very common.... very early depth chart, post spring depth chart, after summer depth chart, official starting game depth chart.... nothing to see here
