Now Both Bowens Gone, That Makes Me Sad

In one year both coach Clint Bowen and quarterback Banks Bowen look to be gone. You can add two other offensive players as well.

STILLWATER – There is no room for sentimentality in modern day college football program and roster rebuilding, but I can’t help it. I know for a fact that former offensive analyst turned defensive coordinator Clint Bowen was someone that the administration requested new head coach Eric Morris take a good look at. Morris even acknowledged in his opening news conference that Bowen’s work with the defense down the stretch of the season was impressive. If it was a package deal, you also got a young talented quarterback in Banks Bowen, but now both are gone.

Pokes Report
Banks Bowen on the run at Kansas.

Banks Bowen has now declared for the transfer portal. The freshman from Lawrence, Kan. Bowen completed three-of-five passes for four-yards. he also ran four times for 28-yards net. He led a scoring drive at Kansas and played late in the game at Arizona. He goes in the transfer portal with four-years of eligibility.

His father, Clint, is a veteran college coach primarily at Kansas, where he played safety. He has also coached at Minnesota, North Texas, and Oklahoma State. He is an excellent person to have on staff and a good coach. He was also a head coach at the high school level in Lawrence.

Coming off an ACL knee injury after not playing at all the past two seasons is Columbia (Irmo) S.C. native and bruising running back Jaden Allen-Hendrix. He is 6-2, 235 pounds.

Another player declaring for the transfer portal and one we feel confident was asked to go that direction is Ayo Shotomide-King. Shotomode-King came from Snow College a year before his JC eligibility was up. He probably should have stayed. This season, his second at Oklahoma State, he had repeated opportunities in practice and also in games. He had no receptions.

The NCAA Division I football transfer portal opens on Jan. 2 and runs two weeks until Jan. 16. After that, players can continue to come out of the transfer portal, but only graduates and players eligible for a waiver to go in can enter the portal.

My man, you need to take a step away for a bit. It's too personal for you right now and it shows in the content you're posting.

Change hurts but is necessary sometimes. No more stories about the past, let's get excited for a new beginning and bringing OSU football into the modern era.

Too bad here! I really liked what Bowen did during the second half of the season with our defensive unit! His son seemed like a sharp young man! As far as Robert being too close, HIS SON WAS ALSO LET GO AS AN ANNALIST BUT IT LOOKS LIKE HE HAS LANDED ON HIS FEET ELSEWHERE!

I was under the impression that Bowen was being kept on staff? Wasn't that announced somewhere a couple of weeks ago?
