Drew Mestemaker Named Davey O'Brien Award Great 8 Quarterback After WVU Win
STILLWATER – For the second time this season, Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker has been named a Davey O’Brien Award Great 8 Quarterback following his performance in the 41-24 win over West Virginia.
He is joined by Iowa’s Hank Brown, Virginia’s Beau Pribula, Oregon’s Dylan Raiola, Alabama’s Keelon Russell, Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, Mississippi State’s Kamario Taylor and Houston’s Conner Weigman.
Mestemaker was electric against the Mountaineers as he went 20-of-27 passing for 389 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
Through four games this season, Mestemaker is completing 67% of his passes on 95-of-141 passing for 1,271 yards and 11 touchdowns. That’s just over 13 yards per pass and an average of 317.8 yards per game.
Mestemaker has earned a much-earned week off this week before the Pokes host UCF for the Big 12 home opener next week.
