Oklahoma State Looks Good On Initial Big 12 Injury Report for Houston Game
STILLWATER – No. 18 Oklahoma State is set to face No. 20 Houston on the road this Saturday and will be doing so with a relatively full cast as the Big 12 has released the initial availability report.
DT Landon Dean remains out, while S Mose Phillips III is now listed as doubtful following the win over UCF. He hurt his shoulder this past Saturday and Morris was unsure of his status as of Tuesday. It’s certainly possible Phillips could play.
As Eric Morris announced on Tuesday, freshman receiver Dayvon Standard is back from injury and is set to play this weekend.
"And (Dayvon) Standard is back this week. Standard is a guy that we were really high on early on in camp, had a little bit of an injury, so has worked his way back. So, you'll see him in the game this week. He has a bigger, longer, 6-2.5 frame that has really good ball skills. Add a little depth there behind Bowick, somebody that can spell him from time to time because he's playing almost every play for us, Bowick is right now."
Standard’s a freshman out of Goodyear, AZ and Desert Edge HS, where he had a solid career. He recorded 23 catches for 463 yards and 10 touchdowns in just six games as a senior, but had 52 catches for 717 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior.
The important thing to note for Houston is former Cowboy interior defensive lineman De’Marion Thomas is out for the Cougars. He has 14 total tackles, eight of which are solo stops, one forced fumble and one quarterback hurry. He’s missed practice this week with a foot injury following the win over Kansas State.
