STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Eric Morris is off to a great start to his tenure in Stillwater as he was named to the “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year watch list on Tuesday.
Morris is one of five Big 12 coaches on the list, joined by Houston’s Willie Fritz, Texas Tech’s Joey McGuire, Utah’s Morgan Scalley and BYU’s Kalani Sitake.
This award is given to the college football coach who’s “contributions that make the sport better for athletes and fans alike by demonstrating grit, integrity and a winning approach to coaching and life – both on and off the field.”
The Cowboys are currently 4-2 on the season, 2-1 in Big 12 play and spent the past few weeks ranked in the AP Top 25 after two-straight seasons of winless play in the Big 12.
It’s Homecoming week in Stillwater and the Cowboys have a chance to snap a two-game losing streak for Homecoming as the Colorado Buffaloes come to town. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on FS1.
