Malcolm Rodriguez Tabbed Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week Following K-State

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s defensive unit continues to be solid week after week and Malcolm Rodriguez is evident of that as he’s picked up his second Big 12 weekly honors of the season after the Kansas State game.

He picked up his first weekly honor of the season following the Tulsa game and is the sixth Cowboy on the season to earn Big 12 weekly honors.

Rodriguez finished the K-State game on Saturday with seven total tackles, six if which were solo stops, as well as a tackle for loss, two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Through four games, Rodriguez has 43 total tackles, 28 of which have been solo stops, 3.0 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery and five quarterback hurries.

On the season, he ranked No. 5 in the FBS in solo tackles per game, No. 6 in total tackles, No. 12 in forced fumbles per game and No. 19 in fumbles recovered. He currently leads the Big 12 in tackles, solo stops and forced fumbles.
