Oklahoma State-Texas TV Details Gets Six-Day Window

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State will have to wait just a little bit longer to find out when it plays Texas next weekend as the television networks have opted to put the game into a six-day window.

The Pokes and Longhorns will either be an 11 a.m. CT kick on FOX, or it will be the primetime 6:30 p.m. CT game on ABC.

So, as you can see from the Big 12’s tweet, both the Oklahoma State-Texas game and the TCU-OU game have the time slots. So, if Texas beats OU in the Red River Showdown this weekend, the OSU-UT game will get the primetime treatment on ABC. If OU beats Texas, then it’ll be an 11 a.m. game on FOX.

The television and game details will be announced this coming weekend following Saturday’s game, but OSU fans will know what time kickoff is as soon as OU and Texas are done playing as that outcome will tell you what time slot the Pokes will have.

Why wouldn't we get the prime time game regardless of a Texas win?

I would think it has to do with OU being ranked higher than OSU, especially if they beat Texas this weekend. Sure, OSU is playing well and is ranked just outside the top-10, they're still facing an unranked Texas team, while a higher-ranked OU is also facing an unranked TCU team. If OSU had a game this weekend and moved up a bit in the rankings, it might help, but they're off with an open week.

2-2 TCU plays 4-1 TT this week too.... that might have a minor impact.

meaning a 2-3 TCU (if they lose to Tech) might lose a bit of the luster for the OU matchup the following week.

but likely, they will take the highest ranked team for the ABC slot (meaning even is OU loses this week, if they are still ranked higher than OSU, I would expect them to pick the goons versus TCU)

Seems like a long shot. Ou tcu isn't a prime game not matter how ya look at it.

ouch.... if a top 10 team (OU) doesn't qualify, I would not consider OSU/UT a prime time game either, no matter how you look at it...

such is the state of the Big12 these days...

wait, is Texas back?

Does Fox get first pick?

No.

ESPN/ABC picks first

personally, I do not want to be in the same 6:30 time slot competing against the Iowa State @KSU game for viewers.

It's just my opinion. Ou is a top 10 team but a very overrated one. Tcu is struggling this year. So regardless of rank to me osu Texas is the better game

but, but, but.... if the goons take down Texas this week, are they still over rated? (if so, what does that say about OSU and Texas?)
