STILLWATER – Following the 32-24 road win over No. 25 Texas, Oklahoma State picks up two Big 12 Player of the Week honors, one on each side of the ball.

Safety Jason Taylor II earns the Defensive Player of the Week and running back Jaylen Warren earns Newcomer of the Week.

Taylor II was electric on Saturday as he was second on the team in total tackles with seven, four of which were solo stops. He also hauled in his first interception on the season, an 85-yard pick six that gave the Pokes their first touchdown of the game.

On the season, Taylor II has 18 total tackles, 14 of which have been solo stops, 1.0 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, one pass break up, one interception and one blocked kick.

Warren was also electric on Saturday, but with his big-time performance coming in the second half. He finished with 33 carries for 193 yards, with 14 carries for 138 yards coming in the fourth quarter.

On the season, Warren’s rushed for 705 yards and six touchdowns on 148 carries and 11 catches for 122 yards.

The Cowboys are back out on the road this coming weekend for the second-straight week, this time in Ames, IA against Iowa State. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on FOX.

We'd better be ready for ISU because they're going to be ready for us.
They need this game more than we do and that scares me.

Gundy has his work cut out for himself this week just getting everyone refocused.
Let's hope this "mature team" will be over the Texas win and ready for the Swirly Birds.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

Not to be contrary, but....

nobody needs this game more than we do.... we will not keep our MNC hopes alive without a victory in Ames

Whenever we are about to play Iowa State I have flashbacks to upsetting us on that Friday night game played under a dark cloud of grief that cost us the opportunity to play for the NCAA championship. Gundy did not help matters after the game during an interview by stating something to the effect, I forget the exact words, that losing to an unranked team probably does mean they won't be considered for playing in the title game.
So anything can go wrong playing ISU. But if we can take down Longhorns, we should be able to handle Cyclones.

Loved the interception return for TD. My favorite defensive play was when Malcolm filled the gap and form tackled their Heisman candidate RB. The kid stopped dead in his tracks like he hit a wall and then went on his back with Malcolm's breath in his nose. Malcolm is fun to watch!

If their fans are any reflection of the team they, ISU, think they have this one already in the win column.

I think its a tough game, but we can win it if we just go out there and play like we have the last 4 games. And, that includes the offense getting a little better each of those 4 games.

They probably also felt that way about Iowa and Baylor, oops, I guess they were wrong on both counts.

I wish people would stop blaming the plane crash on us losing in Amers back in 2011. We were ahead and cruising in that game. Had there been "grief" it would have shown immediately and we'd have been out of the game from the get-go.
SO PLEASE STOP WITH THE GRIEF EXCUSE!

facts are good in a discussion like this.... maybe you'll reconsider after some reflection.... bottom line, it depends on who you ask....

Parker Graham: "I just remember trying to get focused and still trying to maintain that edge, while still feeling that remorse for the people we lost."

Richetti Jones: "I couldn't tell you how my teammates felt exactly, but I can tell you I could look at some of them and I knew that they weren't where they needed to be mentally and weren't ready to play a game."

Elkins: "It would be kind of a sad thought to say (the plane crash was) the reason we lost. That didn't affect our practices. That didn't affect our ability to learn that week. It's very sad for our program and our school, but deep down, it just came down to us on that field."

Well excuses are presenting things that don't exist to explain how things turned out. Grief in this case wasn't an excuse, it was a contributing factor. How large we don't know. We do know that a team that had steamrolled most everyone uncharacteristically went into a coma in the 2nd half of that game. From cruising along to not being able to pick up a first down or even get in FG range to slow the ISU surge.

Often I find that people in a traumatic situation will push forward bravely and look good for a while, but will eventually run out of will power. That to me is a far better evaluation of what happened than yours.

The game is what it is, a loss. Well played comeback by ISU. However, take away that plane crash and it would be another game where we were playing the third string in the 4th quarter.
