Pokes in the NFL: Week 8
Another week of NFL action is in the books, so let’s take a look at how the former Oklahoma State football players in the league performed over the weekend.
Let’s start with Chuba Hubbard, who’s have a really solid rookie season with Carolina.
Chuba Hubbard: Carolina Panthers
After a shaky week 7, Chuba bounced back in a big way this past Sunday as he helped lead the Panthers to a 19-13 win over Atlanta. Chuba led both sides in rushing with 24 carries for 84 yards and his second touchdown of the season. He also had one reception for nine yards.
On the season, Chuba has 108 carries through eight games for 391 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 119 receiving yards on 18 catches.
The Panthers play host to the Patriots this coming Sunday, Nov. 7, with a noon CT kick on CBS (check your local listing).
Emmanuel Ogbah: Miami Dolphins
While he didn’t record any tackles in the 26-11 loss to Buffalo, E-Man did record two pass deflections and one quarterback hit.
The 1-7 Dolphins will host the 1-7 Texans this weekend with a noon CT kick on FOX (check your local listing).
James Washington: Pittsburgh Steelers
The former Biletnikoff Award winner continues to be criminally underused by the Steelers as he had just one catch on one target for four yards in the 15-10 win over Cleveland.
Through six games, Washington has hauled in just 11 catches on 15 targets for 112 yards.
The Steelers have the Monday night game this coming week against the Bears, a 7:15 p.m. CT kick on ESPN. The Steelers are 6.5-point favorites, so maybe Mike Tomlin will use James more.
Matt Ammendola: New York Jets
The Jets won their second game of the season this past weekend, a 34-31 win over the surging Cincinnati Bengals. Kicker Matt Ammendola went 2-for-3 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points for eight points in the game. He’s currently 8-for-11 on FGs this season and 6-for-7 on extra points.
The Jets have a short week this week as they’ll play the Colts on Thursday night with a 7:20 p.m. CT kick on FOX and the NFL Network.
