Knowles’ agent has been negotiating with Oklahoma State and the folks involved with that negotiation range from Oklahoma State University President Dr. Kayse Shrum to athletic director Chad Weiberg and Cowboys head football coach Mike Gundy.

Pay the man!!! $1.5 million is about the going rate for what are considered elite Coordinators.

Exactly. No way Knowles works for R Day if Yurcich tells the truth.

This just goes to show they are not ready for the big time like Gundy wants. Maybe Robert should update his story. Gundy and company need to answer for this fail.

Hey Robert you need to go tell Gundy how pissed off his defensive players are right now.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, We probably offered $ 1.5 million but Ohio State can give out $ 2 million to 2.5 million plus, we can't compete with that, sorry bud but that is the reality.

good lord.... Knowles was offered the DC position, and they DO NOT HAVE a DC. There is zero comparison between the two hires. (i.e. Yurcich)

what in the heck is the matter with you?

Day is making a move after previous defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs was relieved of his play-calling duties two games into the season, after the team's loss to Oregon. Secondary coach Matt Barnes took over play-calling for the remainder of the season.

Bingo, Day is not an easy Head Coach to work for, too controlling in the way he operates. But $2 million dollars can make that situation bearable I guess

and then there is this..... (per ESPN article)

Day is making a move after previous defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs was relieved of his play-calling duties two games into the season, after the team's loss to Oregon. Secondary coach Matt Barnes took over play-calling for the remainder of the season.

Hiring Knowles means that one assistant coach will have to be let go to keep Ohio State under the allowed limit for assistant coaches, but Day has not announced where the spot will come from.

Don't need a comparison. At minimum, Day mislead Yurcich, perhaps even outright lied.

His agent was in negotiations with them long before the engagement with our OSU. Too bad his narrative caught us flat-footed finding his replacement.

We'll now see if it was truly him, or his exceptional players. To be determined.

Go Cowboys

There is no answer. There is no fail.
This is something that's been happening and continues to happen and will forever happen in college football. Look at all of the coaching changes going on today.

Small time successes moving up to bigger schools. Big school OC and DC coaches moving to become headcoaches. This is what coaches (of any worth) are doing all over the nation UNTIL they find their ultimate job.
This is the nature of the beast.

Saban deals with it on an annual basis. So does Ohio State, USC and Texas. Now, our vainglorious neighbors to the south are finding out that Norman is not the center of the universe and are embarking on their own Enlightenment era.

For Gundy to survive and thrive, he has to come to the realization that finding new coaches to replace other coaches for reasons of their ability to move up or their inability to move the team forward is an ongoing concern.
One either adapts successfully or one falls to the wayside.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?
