Strawman?
The Cowboys came out firing on all cylinders in what was the best first quarter for the offensive unit all season, jumping out to a quick 21-0 lead.
After that, the game, and the Cowboys, settled down into what we have seen for most of the season, a sputtering offense and ‘bend dont break’ defense. Although Miami had their backup quarterback for the entire second half, the Hurricanes fought their way back into the game, nearly tying it up.
It was not until the end of the game that the Cowboys regained momentum and shut down the Hurricanes to seal the 37-34 win over the No. 18 ranked team in the nation.
In an up and down game though, came up and down reactions. Here are some of the postgame social media reactions from Pokes fans.
Much of these reactions lined up with mine at times throughout the game. Personally, I think this is a big win for the program. Not only do you get a win over a out of conference ranked opponent, but you also find two stars on the depth chart in Brennan Presley and Tay Martin.
Spencer had one of the best games of his career, earning him the Cheez It Bowl MVP Award.
The Oklahoma State players even went to social media to celebrate the win... and clear up some issues. After it was announced Tylan was not playing in the second half, some fans were enraged, saying he quit on the team. Spencer Sanders and Josh Sills sent a warning to those people.
