Oklahoma’s Top 2024 Prospect and Major Cowboys Target David Stone Is Headed for IMG
David Stone sent out a tweet today that read, “One of my last days in the city”, meaning Del City, where he has gone to school for the first two years of high school.
The comments were Del City fans and members of the community wishing him all the best and thanking him for his time as a Del City Eagle. Naturally, I wanted to know where he was headed so I reached out to him to learn of his future.
Stone told me he will be headed to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, one of the country’s most prestigious sports academies.
The 2024 standout is already a nationally known recruit with 14 offers from some top programs such as Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, LSU, USC, and others.
Stone has a big connection to Oklahoma State for several reasons. The Cowboys were one of his first offers, which has kept them among his favorites from the start. The biggest connection though is that some of his former and current teammates at Del City are either playing at or committed to Oklahoma State.
Linebacker Donny Stephens is a mentor, big brother type of person in Stones life and defensive line commit Jaedon Foreman is a teammate he is close, playing on the defensive line together. When Foreman committed, Stone told me it “makes OSU an even easier pick for the in-state option and to play football with my teammates.”
Stone will be across the country for the final two seasons of his high school career, but he remains a very big target for the Cowboys as well as the Cowboys remaining a big part of Stone’s recruitment.
