Over/Under: Baylor Game Results
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State remained unbeaten on the season following a 36-25 win over No. 14 Baylor in Waco, TX, this past Saturday.
This is a new part to our weekly Over/Under series where we take a look at how our weekly selections played out in the previous game. Be sure an drop into the comment section and let us know how you fared in your selections.
Just as a reminder here are the five selections from the Baylor game:
Spencer Sanders: Over/Under two turnovers – Under – Spencer had just one turnover against Baylor on Saturday, a third quarter interception by Christian Morgan on a pass intended for Brennan Presley, resulting in a touchdown run by Richard Reese to cut the Pokes’ lead to six, 23-17. However, Kasey Dunn drew up a deep pass on the first play of the next drive and Spencer hit Braydon Johnson for 49-yards down to the Baylor one-yard line, with Dominic Richardson getting into the end zone on the very next play.
Rushing game: Over/Under 100 yards – Over – As a team, Oklahoma State combined for 166 total yards on the ground on 46 carries. Spencer Sanders led the way for 14 carries for 75 yards and one touchdown, while Dominic Richardson finished with 24 carries for 73 yards.
Scoring: Over/Under 27 points – Over – The Cowboys finished the day with 36 total points, clearing the Over/Under of 27 points by nine. Both Sanders and Richardson rushed for one touchdown, while Sanders connected with Bryson Green for an impressive touchdown in the first quarter. Jaden Nixon opened the second half with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Then for special teams, an impressive punt from Tom Hutton set up a safety in the second quarter and Tanner Brown kicked two field goals.
Defense: Over/Under 400 yards of total offense – Over – This is actually one I missed on as I chose the under. Baylor combined for 457 yards of total offense, with Blake Shapen throwing for 345 yards and the backs combining for 112 yards on the ground.
Rush defense: Over/Under 150 yards – Under – As you’ll see in the Over/Under right above, the Baylor offense combined for 112 yards on the ground. While that number’s up from last year, that’s right around the Pokes’ average this season as they’re allowing just 111.3 yards a game. Baylor entered Saturday’s game 206.8 yards per game.
