Oklahoma State Lands Commit From Jones College Transfer Lardarius Webb Jr.
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has landed a commitment in the 2023 class from Jones College defensive back transfer, Lardarius Webb Jr.
Webb took to Twitter Monday evening to make the announcement, which comes just a little more than two months after OSU offered.
Webb chose OSU over Kansas (OV), Mississippi State (OV), Virginia Tech and Washington among others.
He marks the 11th overall commitment in the 2023 class, joining fellow defensive backs Kam Franklin and Dylan Smith, the brother of current OSU DB Cam Smith.
This is a big addition for Tim Duffie and Dan Hammerschmidt as Webb is a hybrid defensive back who can play either corner or safety.
5-10, 170-pounds out of Jackson, Mississippi, Webb had a very successful sophomore season for Jones College. He recorded 28 total tackles, 15 of which were solo stops, 4.0 tackles for loss, six pass break ups, six interceptions and one quarterback hurry in 10 games.
Following the season, Webb was tabbed NJCAA All-Region in Region 23 and All-MACCC.
As a freshman, Webb was tabbed First Team All-MACCC as he finished the season with 29 tackles, three tackles for loss, nine pass break ups and three interceptions, one of which was returned 75 yards for a touchdown. His nine break ups ranked T-12th in the NJCAA. He was also tabbed Academic All-MACCC.
Webb, who is the son of former NFL defensive back Lardarius Webb, who won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens, was in Stillwater on an official visit the weekend of the 20-14 win over Iowa State.
