Oklahoma State Offers Transfer WR Leon Johnson III Ahead of Official Visit
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is back into the transfer portal looking to bring in talented wide receivers and the coaching staff is trying to land one from the West Coast.
Leon Johnson III, a senior from George Fox University, a private DIII school in Newberg, Oregon, reported an offer from the Pokes just ahead of his official visit to Stillwater this weekend.
Johnson III checks in at 6-5, 207 pounds and is coming off a monster season in 2022. He finished his senior season with 55 catches for 1,156 yards and 14 touchdowns. For his efforts, he was tabbed an AFCA DIII First Team All-American, as well as the Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, a NWC First Team selection and D3Football.com All-Region.
His 1,205 all-purpose yards, 1,154 receiving yards, 174 yards against Redlands in the season opener, 14 receiving touchdowns, three receiving touchdowns against Redlands and 11 receptions against Pacific Lutheran all broke and set program records.
In his two previous season, not playing the 2020 season, Johnson III hauled in 25 receptions for 450 yards and six touchdowns as a true freshman in 2019, earning NWC honorable mention, and 30 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns in 2021.
Johnson III will have one year of eligibility remaining.
