STILLWATER – It took an extra game for Texas to win the Austin Regional, but Oklahoma State will be hosting the Longhorns in the Stillwater Super Regional this coming weekend with a trip to the Women’s College World Series on the line.

It will be a Friday, Saturday, Sunday series with game one taking place at 4 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2. Saturday’s game will start at 3 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN and Sunday’s if-necessary game will be at 5 p.m. CT on ESPNU.

This has the makings of being one of the best Supers in the country this weekend as the Cowgirls swept Texas during the regular season, then beat the Longhorns in the Big 12 tournament.

The Cowgirls easily rolled through the Stillwater Regional this past weekend as they run-ruled Campbell 10-0 in five innings, beat Mississippi State 9-3 in game two and then run-ruled them in game three in five innings, 10-2. The Cowgirls combined for 36 hits on the weekend, seven of which were home runs, while giving up just 12 hits. One of those homers for OSU was a history-making blast as Sydney Pennington hit her 36th career home run, breaking the previous record of 35 held by Tiffany Mikkelson.

Carrie Eberle picked up two wins on the weekend as she recorded 11 strikeouts in two complete games. Kelly Maxwell picked up the third win of the weekend as she went 4.1 innings giving up just two hits with no runs and two strikeouts.

This marks the second-straight year the Cowgirls have made a Super Regional, the third overall trip in program history. The Cowgirls will be looking to make it a second-straight trip to the WCWS as they made it back in 2019, with the 2020 season being canceled due to COVID-19.
